More Flowers

My azalea and hostas always are a good show this time of year. I really did take this picture yesterday, but I know it looks just like last year and before.

Spring Flowers and Fish Pond Surprise

When Eaven was here last summer, he caught several fish in the pond or the river and put them into the fish pond. We never saw them after the fall so when I clean out the fish pond to prepare it for some goldfish that neighbor Ed gave me, I found 4 good size Blue Gill that I tranferred to the washtub while I replaced the water.
Glad the goldfish will have some company.

A couple of years ago Eddie and Trudi gave me about a dozen Japanese Maple seedlings from their yard and I have cultivated them in this strip. Most did very well and we are digging some up and passing them around.

This is the first year the Wisteria has bloomed. The Snowball bush Teresa gave me from Balsam Grove is just budding on the left and Dogwoods are blooming in the back.

Aaron Making Fajitas

Aaron came up last weekend to go fishing with Keith and Denise and they invited Frank and me up for Fajitas which Aaron put together. Enjoyed them with my margaritas.

Frank's Twilight T-Shirt

Keith and Denise got Frank this T-shirt in Pigeon Forge. Looks just like Twilight.

Eddie II after jumps.

Eddie II after his jumps. I think those are his 'wings' above U. S. Army. He graduated today and is on his way to Fort Bragg. He jumped five times, once with full pack and once at night.

Salad and Couscous with veggies.

Served hot with salad and iced tea. Very good. ( I know, my pictures loaded backwords so read from bottom of post )
Add water and couscous. Cover and let stand 5 minutes.

Add squashes.

Saute onions, garlic and peppers.

Garlic, onions, pepper, yellow and zucchini squash.

I bought some steel-cut oats at Earth Fare (Karen had served us some and we liked it) and while I was there, I found some couscous and tried it tonight. The recipe said be sure it was precooked or it would take an hour and since it was in a plain bag, I didn't know so had to test at 5:45 so I would have an hour before 7:oo. Not to worry, mine was precooked.
