Wedding Ring Quilt

Grandma had a double wedding ring quilt that she wanted to display so Frank took the bottom legs from an old rocker and made mounts from them. The rod is an old broomstick, all stained and varnished. The quilt is one she bought about 20 years ago and is completely handmade and very bright and pretty (of course I would think so since it's background is green). She wanted it hanging over her bed.

Grandma with flowers

I managed to get a picture of Mom with her birthday flowers. She also enjoyed the chocolate that Teresa sent.

Grandma's Flowers

These are the flowers that Karen sent Grandma for her birthday. They are already over a week old here, but still look great.

Nail Day

If the girls can do a hair day, I will do a nail day. Trudi took me to her nail place and treated me to a manicure and pedicure (and lunch). It was very relaxing and looks good, don't you think.

Thanks, Trudi, I enjoyed it.

Frank Working

Frank has been busy helping with the greenhouse. He also has renewed his interest in radio controlled airplanes and has been working on some unfinished ones he had in his building and has ordered some new parts and tools. Here he is mounting a new overhead light.

Greenhouse Finished

The greenhouse is finished and in use. There's lots of room inside. I am "recycling" the black iron island shelving from kitchen and the glass top table I have been using as an outdoor potting table (both donations from the sons) . I repainted the pedestal black and removed the outer wooden frame so that it would be narrower. I have already potted some Sweet William and Day Lily seeds I saved from last year.

The windows open and close automatically when temperature changes.

Greenhouse in progress

The foundation for the greenhouse was finished Saturday. We will attach the greenhouse itself tomorrow and move the equipment in and start GROWING THINGS.

Working the Sudoku puzzle

I am using the Sukoku puzzle board and like it. I use it as directed at first and enter original puzzle in red and work what I can in black. The easy ones I can finish this way, but for the harder ones, once I am stumped, I turn all to red and then I can 'guess' in black and know where I started. ( Don't tell Dick ) .

More Spring Flowers

We have more spring flowers now, the grape hyacinths at the walkway. Note the evidence at the end of the walk. " You might be a redneck if you plant flowers in an old tire. " We are upscale rednecks because our tire is an airplane tire.

March Flowers

Our daffodils are blooming good now.

Finished Trailer

We finished the green trailer and these will be the last pictures for now.

Saturday, March 10, 2007

We found a Sudoku Puzzle Board that should eliminate my pencil entries. The tiles are reversible so the puzzle is copied onto the board from the book or paper in red tiles and the solution is entered in black tiles. I'll let you know how it works later.

The pictured puzzle was classified as " very easy ".

Trailer Progress

One more picture of green trailer in progress.

We have new pictures of Twilight.

We have been rebuilding the old "blue trailer". It will soon be the "green trailer". Some may recognize the BP color. Will post pictures of finished product later.
