My Christmas Cactus from Karen
Karen brought me a couple of sprigs of her Christmas Cactus this summer, it was already rooted so I potted it and it has just bloomed. Sure, it's a little early for the season, must have the same DNA as her's.

Sandbox and Swing Set
Frank built a sandbox from old timbers from bridge and some scrap lumber. The sand is just river sand from our banks.
The swing set is a big hit too.

The step into our upstair shower had deteriorated so we planned a repair. Just a few pics of the process.

Mulch and Timbers for Yard
We had a huge load of mulch from chipped-up trees in our driveway that we needed to move so finally got around to setting timbers and filling with mulch. Since I didn't want a lot of brush trimmings in the mulch and bushes around house needed trimming, we did that first. When finished, we set up firepit and lawn furniture and will not have to move them now every time we mow.

Front Porch Railings for Eddie and Brittany's House (previously "Nanny's House")
I see I haven't posted anything since March, so decided I would just post today's project and maybe catch up later.
We have been working on railings since Frank didn't want Connor and Lilee to fall off porch. I didn't take many pictures of process, but this what I have. We bought the long panels already built, and constructed one short one at end of porch and the gate end from decorative panels and railings that matched.
Even got a picture of the resident cat Pepper, whom they have adopted.

Trees from yard
The trees in the front yard were beginning to rot and were always a mess with brittle limbs and such. Even so, it was a little bittersweet to see them coming down. The first two have been there almost 55 years, and seedling come up everywhere, a few have been allowed to stay. Just a few pictures to see the before and after. We love the new view, I will of course do something with the stumps and probably spend a few weeks cleaning up the brush and storing firewood. We have found it burns very well in our woodstove.
